CHAMPIONS routine.

Updated: Nov 27, 2023

After coming to grips of abnormality becoming my new normal. I began to see my circumstances from a faith perspective. I noticed how all of the pain and suffering forced me to MOVE. TO JUST DO SOMETHING. All of the trials I've endured, is forging me to become who I'm called to become through the Holy Spirit. My whole mentality has changed, I am not the same person. I now appreciate every little thing in life. I am thankful for everything I've been through, it has put me on a path of becoming the best version of myself everyday. It all started with a routine, that now is my champions routine.

The first steps of fighting back were quite literally, steps, yes steps, ALOT of them. I began to walk. Everyday, I started my day walking, my goal was 10k steps a day. I felt free when walking, my thinking seemed to become more clear, the reduced impact on the ground compared to running, didnt "shake my brain". The highlight of my day became walking, to the point, I began surpassing over 100k steps a week. No matter how high on a scale of 1-10 my symptoms were, walking was a priority and it empowered me to push myself again. As time passed, I began to add more uncomfortable challenges in my routine. Every activity involving my brain was very challenging, it required all of my energy. For example, I would read until the onset of a migraine, rest, and repeat throughout the day. The more challenging things I gradually put myself through, initially making my symptoms worse, actually became my saving grace. I learned to purposely do the things that made me feel worse, rest, and then repeat. I applied this principle to my daily life. What started out as baby steps has turned into a routine of willingly suffering, through exercise. The discipline of pushing myself past my limits has become my passion. I now have a higher tolerance to pain and adversity in achieving my goals, from my experience of post concussion syndrome.
